For two decades, Flags for the Cure has brought our community together through flag football with one shared purpose: fighting cancer. What began as a backyard tournament among friends has grown into a five-day annual tradition that has raised more than $475,000 for the American Cancer Society.
2027 marks our 20th tournament — and our biggest milestone yet.
Our Mission
To unite communities through the game of flag football while raising critical funds and awareness for cancer research, patient care, and prevention. For almost 20 years, our players, families, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters have shown what can happen when a community comes together for something bigger than the game.
Our Story
It started in a backyard with a simple idea: play football, raise money, and give back to a cause close to our hearts.
Twenty years later, that idea has become a tradition spanning generations of players, families, volunteers, and supporters.
From a group of friends playing for a cause to a five-day tournament bringing together teams of all ages, Flags for the Cure has continued to grow while staying true to why it began: using the game we love to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
In 2027, we proudly celebrate our 20th tournament — honoring everyone who helped build the first 19 while looking ahead to what we can accomplish together next.
Who We Serve
Flags for the Cure brings together players from age 6 through 40+, along with coaches, volunteers, families, survivors, sponsors, local businesses, and spectators. Whether you've been with us for 20 years or this is your first tournament, there's a place for you in the Flags for the Cure community.
What We Do
Our flagship event is a five-day flag football tournament held every December or January in Wellington, Florida, bringing together youth and adult teams for competition, community, and a cause much bigger than football.
Tournament proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society, supporting the fight against cancer through research and patient programs.
