Flags for the Cure – 18 Years of Flag Football.
One Mission: End Cancer.

At Flags for the Cure, we believe in the power of sport to bring people together and create lasting change. For 18 years, we've combined our love of flag football with the drive to fight cancer — raising over $466,000 for the American Cancer Society since our first game.

Our Mission

To unite communities through the game of flag football while raising critical funds and awareness for cancer research, patient care, and prevention. We believe that when people come together for a cause, we can make a difference far beyond the field.

Our Story

It all started in a backyard, where a group of friends came up with a simple idea: play football, raise money, and give back to a cause close to their hearts. That grassroots beginning has grown into a beloved annual tradition and a full-fledged 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Now preparing for our 19th tournament, we’re proud to continue honoring our roots while growing our impact year after year.

Who We Serve

Flags for the Cure is for anyone who wants to get involved — from age 6 to 40+. Whether you’re a player, coach, volunteer, fan, survivor, or family member, there’s a place for you in our community.

Our participants include:

  • Youth players and teams

  • Adult competitors of all skill levels

  • Supporters, sponsors, and local businesses who believe in giving back

What We Do

Our flagship event is a five-day flag football tournament, hosted every January in Wellington, Florida.

In 2025, we brought together 56 teams across 6 divisions, all competing not just for the win, but for something bigger — hope.

All proceeds go directly to the American Cancer Society, helping fund research, treatment programs, and support services for individuals and families impacted by cancer.

What Sets Us Apart

We’re more than a tournament — we’re a movement. Flags for the Cure is built and run by people who have personal connections to the cause and a lifelong love of sports. Our leadership understands the value of teamwork, resilience, and heart — and we bring those same values to everything we do.

Our Impact

  • $466,000+ raised for cancer research and support

  • 18 years of tournaments and community engagement

  • Thousands of players, volunteers, and supporters involved

  • Countless lives touched through awareness and fundraising

Our Vision

We envision a world where no one has to hear the words “you have cancer.” A world with more birthdays, more milestones, and more moments of celebration. Through sports, community, and compassion — we’re doing our part to make that future possible.

Get Involved

Whether you’re ready to play, donate, sponsor, or volunteer — we’d love to have you join us in the fight.
